Thursdays are my day off, which really confound me, because I HATE time off.

I never know what to do with myself, so I just either fish (which I love) or watch dvd's (which makes me a slug.) sometimes both. you never can tell.

Today, however, I got tons of shit done. in order and completely by accident:

Helped Tiffany , Manager of the vidoe store break down 3 tons of cardboard (not really 3 tons, but you get the point) and take them to recycling.

broke in to a car to retrieve car keys for a stranded motorist. (didn't say to her that I used to do it for a hobby in high school, figured it wasn't the right time.)

helped move bikes for a program for the underprivileged. (My town fucking ROCKS!)

Confirmed My Travel plans for my dads memorial. Including:

Talking to an old HS mate, who I havent seen in 13 years, to pick me up at the PLA airport to drive me . Late night, back to SJ.

Fed a wayward cat.

Helped a friend who was freaking out because she has to move out of her apartment tomorrow, find another apartment.

and helped a bloodworm, that somehow crawled onto the pavement, back onto grass, cuz it was gonna die.

Aint we just big damn heroes.

So Haik commented on the show that I really never update this thing.. and well he is right. I don't.. or at least not as often as I really should, given that most of my day is spent on the computer. So I will make an attempt today, whilst waiting for the production on this weeks paper to begin.

Got an email from Shay this morning, early, letting me know the good news. He will be taking over Peter Freynes Inside Track column over at the 7D. I let him know that I could think of no better choice to replace Peter. Shay's got access, and pith. 2 things you need in stepping into freynes shoes. But he also brings something Peter never really had. and unbiased viewpoint.

Well Haik implied that my blog id not well, read.. And I would have an issue with that. But he may actually have a point.

I obviously started this blog at some point in my life, so i sure as hell should post something to it.

Oddly enough, I dont remember doing it, however, this is not surprising if you know me.

But seeing as I did, I probably did for a reason, and thus I do.

In the spirit of how I originated this blog, referencing the MSJ Variety hour, I will have to assume This is a political blog, and thus it goes.

EVE OF IOWA 2008

As much of a political junkie as you know me, and pretty far right, I find myself agreeing with Mr. Moore on on issue today. I am finding myself not being able to make up my mind with the Republican field. I mean I have whom I WANT.. Fred Thompson... but I and he knows that he is beat. even with the 20 buck I loaned him for the campaign. Dont worry, fred... its a gimme.

Now dont get me wrong. its all up for grabs at this point. I want Fred, and I think he will make a fine Prez. but the race has gotten so convoluted that even a political junkie like me no longer figure out from day to day what the hell is going on.

and thats fine. its the process, and deep down, we live for this shit. We wake up at 5am reading all the pol wires we can, and then find ourselves disgusted after the second cup by what we see.

then drink a third and read on. Its what we do.

So lets address another issue while I am here.

THE MATTY AND STECH VARIETY HOUR FEATURING JOSH

I left the show , and Burlington, out of self preservation. Plain and simple. It was stone self serving, and I left a bunch of people in the lurch, the show included. I was spinning out of control in burlington.

I was pulling shit that even offends me, which is really hard to do. I have spent more breakfasts at the Hilton than I care to remember.

But I guess I really ever leave the show, now do I?

I turned 41 last year. and the 19 years I spent in burlington spawned the largest personal chunk of my life.

Came during my college years and left still alive. that accounts for something. It has seen a lot of parties , loves (short lived and long term), many marriages, many more divorces, new lives and needless deaths.

in short. life.

SO... Back to the show. I still want to do the show, and I tried to continue the show. We tried live webcams (didnt work). we tried me phoning it in (doesnt have the same effect) . Tried doing the Youtbe thing to compensate. To be honest, it was my greatest effort to date to try to keep my part in the show alive. Everyone had access to the channel, anyone could post to it, but I was the only one doing it (even though EVERYONE on the fucking show has access to cameras and facilities. to me, thats just plain fucking LAZY). I posted 101

But as much as I love it, the fact remains that it is not a healthy thing for me to do. Matty and Josh (and the cast of THOUSANDS) will just have to deal.

Besides. Haik does such a good job. he is a natural personality. His politics and logic suck (and I mean that in the kindest possible terms), but then there you go. we agree to disagree.
